Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Specialist to join our team at Porter-Starke Services, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit community health center serving adults, families, adolescents, and children with mental health or substance abuse issues. As a Behavior Specialist, you will work with our residential housing facility, LIFE House, to provide clients with a safe and therapeutic environment, assisting with daily tasks, and promoting independent living skills.
Responsibilities:
Facilitate interventions related to independent living skills, such as cooking, cleaning, and grocery shopping, for residents
Assist patients and their engagement with support systems to enhance recovery efforts
Coordinate specialty referrals and communicate with primary care providers
Assist with keeping medication sheets up to date and provide direct client care
Develop and revise treatment plans as needed
Enforce rules and regulations for appropriate conduct of consumers and visitors
Perform other duties as assigned
Education/Experience:
Associate's/Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related human services discipline is required
Experience working with program population and program environment is preferred
Must possess a current valid driver's license to operate an automobile
Benefits:
SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL : +$2/evenings, +$4/nights, +$4/weekends and they can be STACKED (work a midnight weekend and make an additional $8/hour!)
STARTING PAY : From $19.57 and up based on experience
